Climate
Montreux enjoys a particularly mild climate due its location at the foot of the Alps and on the shores of Lake Geneva. That's why this area is called the Swiss Area.

Several banks (UBS, BCV, Credit Suisse) are present in the city. The usual opening hours are 09h00 - 12h00 and 13h30 - 16h30 from moday until friday. Many ATM are available in the city including at the train station, city centre and near the lake.

Shops
Major shops and stores are open monday to friday from 08h30 to 18h30 and on saturdays  until 17h00. Shops are closed on sunday except some baker's and grocer's. It is not unsusual for small shops and boutiques to close on mondays.
