The Montreux Volley Masters 2009 opening games of yesterday

The 2009 Montreux Volley Masters started yesterday with an opening game between China and Poland. China who logically won after too many mistakes from Poland.

Regarding the match between Brazil and Germany, despite the motivation and tenacity of The Germans, Brazil showed an amazing volleyball and won on the score of 3 :0.
Brazil did reign everywhere, especially in defense, and ended up winning the last set to an amazine 25 to 14.

For the game between Cuba and Japan, Cuban won on the score of 3:0 as well even if they had hard time at the beginning due to many errors. Japan played pretty well on every single point but Cuba could relay on an excellence presence at the net.

Brazil and Italy teams back at the Montreux Volley Masters

For its 25th anniversary, the Montreux Volley Masters offers a wonderful gift to the spectators: the Olympic Champion, FIVB ranked N°1 team in the world, Brazil, will be back on the Swiss Rivera after two year’s absence!
With Italy, China and Cuba, four out of the five best teams in the world will also attend the event in Montreux from June 9th to 14th, 2009. The remaining four teams from Japan (World No. 7), Poland (9), the Netherlands (13) as well as Germany (15) also belong to the world elite.

With 6 of the 10 top FIVB ranked teams and two very attractive teams among the 15 top, the level of play will be at its top. The qualification games will take place from Tuesday to Friday (at 16h30, 18h30 and 21h), Saturday being dedicated to semi-finals and Sunday to final games.

Montreux Volley master 2009

It is been 25 years since the Montreux Volley Masters hosts the best ladies volleyball players on the shores of Lake Geneva. The growing attendance of spectators make it as the most important event of Montreux in June.

With a budget of CHF. 900,000. - The 2009 edition will take place from June 09th to 14th and will gather the 8 best teams of the moment.
